U.S. Accused of Supporting Japan's Moves for Reinvasion

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The People's Action for Peace against War, an organization of south Korea, released a statement on Nov. 21 accusing the U.S of supporting Japan's moves for reinvading Korea. The statement recalled that the U.S. held a joint meeting of diplomatic and military chiefs in Washington on Nov. 20 at which it voiced support for the moves of Japan including its examination of the exercise of "the right to collective self-defense". The statement denounced the U.S. for clarifying its will to support and cooperate with Japan in its moves to exercise the "right to collective self-defense" though it is a serious issue of stoking contradictions in Northeast Asia because these are part of the scenario for carrying out its policy for rearmament. The statement condemned Japan for justifying the war of aggression by distorting history textbooks, refusing to make any apology and reparation for its past crimes and, at the same time, stepping up its policy of reinvasion as evidenced by its moves to make the Pacifist Constitution invalid and exercise "the right to collective self-defense." It demanded the U.S. stop at once backing the moves of Japan for reinvasion in a bid to carry out its policy for hegemony. The south Korean authorities will face strong public protest if they persist in such irresponsible acts as allowing Japan to exercise "the right to collective self-defense", the statement warned. |
