Roberto Gabriele, general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to Kim Jong Il's undying exploits and the Korean people's successes in building a thriving nation on the occasion of the second anniversary of his demise.
