Japanese Politician's Absurd Remarks over Sexual Slavery Denounced
Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- Mayor of Osaka Hashimoto who is co-head of the Japan Restoration Party, recently let loose rubbish that sexual slavery issue existed in the period of war in different parts of the world. This shows that he is discontent with the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army that has been frequently raised, given that such crimes are committed by armies of other countries during wars.

This is tantamount to his admittance of the existence of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army in the past and its gravity, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in a commentary.

He tried to compare the crimes related to the sexual slavery committed by Japan to those committed by armies of other countries. This only resulted in his admittance of the Japanese imperialists' crimes and their responsibilities, the commentary notes, and goes on:

Crimes related to the sexual slavery during the wars are hideous crimes against humanity that deserve punishment by criminal law. International law defines mental and spiritual damage to civilians as crimes of massacre, and acts of turning civilians into slaves, practicing tortures against them and forcing them into prostitution as crimes against humanity.

But the crimes related to the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army differs from what was committed by the aggression armies of other countries in their nature.

The sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army was institutionalized in the past. The Japanese government and military were what directly organized and executed it. Japan reduced 200 000 Korean women into sexual slaves. This would have been unthinkable apart from the Japanese imperialists' military fascist suppression system under which all civilians were under strict control ranging from the capital to the lowest administrative unit.

In the light of all these historical facts and the gravity of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army the Japanese politicians have no face to take issue with other countries. It would be proper for them to repent of and make reparations for the past crimes committed by their country.
