Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee set the remembrance period from December 1 to 17 and decided to hold colorful political and cultural events including remembrance meeting, seminar, lecture, photo exhibition and film show on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the demise of Kim Jong Il who made a special contribution to the Korean revolution and world socialist movement.
