The work published on December 1, Juche 101 (2012) recalls that the Academy of Social Sciences has contributed to firmly upholding the ideas and authority of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the leader and developing the ideas and theories of the party and carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche and clarifies the basic tasks facing the field of social sciences at present.

The seminar heard papers explaining and proving the originality and validity of the ideas and theories clarified in the letter.

The speakers said the social sciences of the DPRK are shining with the ideas and august names of the leaders and fulfilling their mission as a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon for steering the popular masses' cause of independence as they have the great ideological and theoretical exploits performed by the peerlessly great men as their historical treasures and eternal foundation.

They referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il founded with their rare ideological and theoretical wisdom the Juche idea and Songun idea the basic objective of which is to realize the independence of the popular masses and thus developed the social sciences into revolutionary and Juche-based ones on the basis of these ideas.

Proceeding from the requirements of the Korean revolution which has reached a new phase of its development, Kim Jong Un formalized the revolutionary ideas of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and set forth it as the supreme programme of the WPK to model whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, they added.

They underlined the need to glorify forever the great ideological and theoretical exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and actively contribute to carrying out the cause of modeling whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism with great achievements in their researches.

Present there were teachers, researchers, lecturers, journalists, editors and officials in the fields of social sciences, education, preservation of revolutionary historic relics and national heritage, media and institutions for training party cadres.
