Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- An autumn campaign of land management has been conducted throughout the DPRK. Pyongyang citizens planted at least 57,000 trees and dug pits for more than 1,800 trees. They also repaired and repainted many multi-storey buildings and carried out such works as paving roads of tens of thousands of square meters, laying curbstones and planting turf of new species. North Hamgyong Province conducted the construction of revetment covering over 30 000 square meters and 10-odd structures and the repair of three bridges, as part of the work for improving Chongjin-Rason Road. And it planted 10,000 trees of good species along the road. Its cities and counties situated along rivers are concentrating efforts on river improvement projects and the face-lifting of promenades. North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces, too, stepped up embankment projects in rivers and reservoirs to prevent flood damage. South Hwanghae and Ryanggang provinces directed big efforts to modernizing tree nurseries, laying a solid foundation for increased production of saplings. Meanwhile, Nampho City built 10-odd parks and 15 skate parks. And it covered with turf and other plants vacant grounds and roadsides covering more than 900,000 square meters. |
