S. Korean Conservative Group Assailed for Distorting History
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet paper Voice of People on Nov. 28 carried an article denouncing the puppet conservative ruling forces for distorting history.

The history textbook written by scholars of the neo-conservative circle under the patronage of the Ministry of Education is now under examination, the article said, and went on:

The textbook whitewashes pro-Japanese dictatorship and distorts history. They should have been rejected from the screening stage by the "Committee for Compiling National History".

The textbook distorts the historical facts that the Japanese imperialists committed all sorts of evil acts to eliminate the Korean languages and letters and walked away 200 000 Koreans women to force them into sexual slavery and, at the same time, eulogizes such dictators as Syngman Rhee and Park Chung-Hee. The screening of such textbook was possible because the Park Geun Hye regime had been deeply involved in it.

The article condemned the scholars of the neo-conservative circle appointed by the present regime to the seats of power for beautifying pro-Japanese dictatorship and spearheading a historical coup.

It said that even broad circles and local self-governing organizations of south Korea are demanding the nullification of the screening of the distorted history textbook.
