South Koreans Stage Sit-in Strike in Demand of Proper Rice Price

| Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Members of the Unified Progressive Party and the Federation of Peasants Associations, the Federation of Women Peasants Associations, the Solidarity for Progress and other civic and social organizations held a press conference outside the "National Assembly" building in Seoul on Nov. 28. They declared an indefinite sit-in strike in demand of proper rice price for peasants. They accused the "National Assembly" of failing to fix proper rice price despite the demand of peasants. They declared they would go on a sit-in strike against the NA in a bid to get proper rice price fixed as it is the lifeline of the peasants. Noting that the peasants have been belittled in society, they stressed they would continue their actions till peasants become masters of society and their demand is met. |
