The statement said:

In south Korea so-called intelligence institutions have intensified the moves to investigate and arrest members of the Unified Progressive Party and sympathizers with them and refer them to court on the basis of fabricated evidence.

The south Korean regime and its master U.S. are afraid that the influence of patriotic reunification forces may increase and, therefore, are trying to bring back the dark era of fascist dictatorship and escalate confrontation on the Korean Peninsula.

We extend solidarity to all the progressive forces in south Korea in their efforts for peace, democracy and independent reunification of the country and denounce the south Korean authorities for the political suppression of them.
