Confident of the future of the triumphant country in the crucible of the Fatherland Liberation War, he published the work "On Mapping Out the Master Plan for the Postwar Reconstruction of Pyongyang," unrolling a grand blueprint for rehabilitation and construction.

Kim Jong Il published the work "Theory of Architectural Art" on May 21, Juche 80 (1991), giving an exposition of the issues of the essence of architecture and its attribute, the revolutionary nature of the socialist architecture and Juche-based architecture and its characteristics.

In different works he put forward the original idea on creating architecture based on the revolutionary outlook on the leader. He clarified principled issues and ways to develop socialist architecture in the DPRK into a Juche-based and popular new architecture to meet the requirements of the developing era and the aesthetic and emotional taste of the people.
