Action Staged in S. Korea in Defence of Government Employees' Union
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- A press conference took place in Seoul on December 4 to inaugurate the south Korean Joint Measure Committee of Civic and Public Organizations against Suppression of Government Employees Union under the Pretext of Security and for Reform of Public Servants' Community made up of at least 150 civic and public organizations including the Solidarity for Progress and the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society.

The committee said that the suppression of the Government Employees' Union by the Park Geun Hye group is nothing but a gimmick to tide over with ease their crisis sparked off by the organized interference in the election by power organs and a tyrannical action to stamp out the labor movement.

The organization declared that in the future it would disclose the Park regime's unreasonable suppression under the pretext of security, a follow-up of its illegal election, and launch actions for reforming the public servants' community and defending democracy and the Government Employees Union.

Speakers at the press conference recalled that many workers have been dismissed over the last more than decade since the Government Employees Union was formed, adding that they have struggled to combat injustice and corruption and build a proper public servants' community.

The above-said suppression of the union clearly indicates that the regime is keen to tide over its crisis.

They declared that religionists would come out in the actions demanding the resignation of Park and foil the crackdown on the union.

They also stressed that the peasants, too, would turn out in actions for the regime change.
