KCNA Commentary on U.S. Sophism against DPRK
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- Recently Joseph Baiden, vice-president of the United States, said "north Korea can never achieve security and prosperity so long as it pursues nuclear weapons."

This is sophism that could be made by an impudent burglar.

It is none other than the U.S. that intentionally hinders other countries' efforts for stability and prosperity in international arena.

As the world's biggest nuclear-weapons state and nuclear blackmailer, the U.S. existence itself has become a main factor of rendering the international situation tense and a stumbling block to the development of the progressive countries.

The U.S. was the first in the world to develop nuclear weapons and use them, inflicting nuclear disaster on many people. It is still now engaged in nuclear blackmail against other countries, scheming to dominate the world by dint of nukes.

In its "four-year defense strategy report" worked out in 2010, the U.S. stressed the need to keep up its nuclear arsenal. This clearly showed that it had no intention to abandon nuclear weapons.

It conducted a series of sub-critical nuclear tests in recent years alone and tests for examining the capacity of nukes based on plutonium this year.

Meanwhile it is planning to update B-61 nuclear bombs till 2024 with expenditure of 8 billion dollars.

Such moves are a heinous crime as they fan up the nuclear arms race and nuclear threat worldwide and hinder the development of international community.

It is the height of impudence for the U.S., which has a great number of nukes enough to destroy the entire mankind several hundred times and has hindered the global peace, stability and prosperity with them, to talk about "security and prosperity", pulling up the DPRK over its nuclear deterrent for self-defense.

The U.S. continued accusation of the DPRK over its nuclear deterrent is only aimed to disarm the latter and then realize the ambition for stifling it as well as to justify the scheme for nuclear modernization.

Such gangster-like acts against the sovereign states aspiring after independence, progress and prosperity can never be tolerated.

No matter how desperate the U.S. become in its anti-DPRK moves, the DPRK will invariably go along the road chosen by itself.
