The U.S. real intention is aimed to push the tense situation to the worst phase by instigating the south Korean regime to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK on the Korean Peninsula and to justify the moves to ignite a new war under this pretext, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a commentary.

This year, the U.S. has driven the situation on the peninsula into unprecedented tensions.

It is a scenario of the U.S. to round off the preparations for igniting a nuclear war to stifle the DPRK, to begin with. It is also seeking to have the U.S. munitions enterprises monopolize the arms market of south Korea as they are floundering due to the cutdown of the government's military spending.

It is the artifice of the U.S., the dirtiest war merchant, to create a favorable circumstance for the arms sales by fanning up confrontation and expand the arms market in the way of escalating tensions.

The U.S. is the root cause of escalating tensions and creating the danger of a war and the chief culprit who brings about a new Cold War in the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. has persistently resorted to the arms sales and arms buildup aimed at confrontation and hegemony but can never get rid of its poor plight.

The DPRK will bolster up deterrence for self-defense in an effort to arrest the increasing U.S. threat and hegemony and achieve peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region.
