The participants paid tribute to the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

A letter of pledge was read out by Choe Ryong Hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA.

He said that the service personnel of the KPA who gathered in the sacred temple of Juche pay highest tribute and extend eternal glory to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who dedicated all their lives to the country and the revolution.

He stressed that Kim Il Sung founded the immortal Juche idea, the Songun idea and built a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, on this land, performing immortal exploits which would shine long in the history of the country.

He recalled that Kim Jong Il led all service personnel and people along the road of victory with his iron will and superhuman energy, putting the national dignity and power onto the highest stage and consolidating the powerful political and military bases capable of steadily advancing the Korean revolution.

The KPA will hold Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the unitary center of unity and leadership and protect him unto death true to the behests of Kim Jong Il, he declared, and continued:

The KPA is the eternal army of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un and it will always remain the army of Kim Jong Un defending him unto death and upholding his leadership only.

All participants solemnly pledged to become human bullets and bombs, singing the song of faith that all service personnel and people know Kim Jong Un only, and further glorify the glorious tradition of the DPRK's revolutionary armed forces, which was started with the spirit of defending Kim Il Sung unto death and carried forward with the spirit of defending Kim Jong Il unto death, with the determination to protect Kim Jong Un unto death.

The meeting was followed by a march-past of service personnel of the KPA ground, navy and air and anti-air force and students of the revolutionary schools.

Present at the meeting were officers of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, officers of units and military academies at all levels, service personnel of the KPA and students of the revolutionary schools.
