The Russian newspaper Pravda Primoriya in an article titled "Steadfast defender of socialism" on December 10 said that the truth and invincibility of socialism as a science were proved thanks to energetic ideological and theoretical activities of Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il wisely led the struggle for defending Korean socialism centred on the popular masses, holding high the banner of Songun, it noted.

The Russian paper Komsomolskaya Pravda on December 10 said in an article titled "Immortal banner for realizing independence in all countries of the world":

30 years have passed since Kim Jong Il published the historic work "Let Us Advance under the Banner of Marxism-Leninism and the Juche Idea" but his work is still displaying great vitality.

Epoch-making changes in the DPRK clearly prove that the Juche idea is the most scientific and correct idea to carry out the cause of socialism.

The Korean people, proud of themselves of standing in the van of the struggle to carry out the cause of socialism, are fully ready to further glorify dignified Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea with the Juche idea and Songun politics.

An Ethiopian paper on Dec. 7 introduced in an article titled "Eternal Chairman of the National Defence Commission" that Kim Jong Il formulated the Songun politics as the main political mode under socialism and established the state machinery with the NDC as its pivot. He also turned the DPRK into an invincible military power and guided the efforts to build a thriving nation, the paper added.
