Korean Book, Photo and Handicraft Exhibitions Open in Brazil, Bulgaria

Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibitions were opened with due ceremonies in Brazil and Bulgaria on Dec. 5 and 6 on the occasions of the 22nd anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army, the second anniversary of Marshal Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme commandership of the KPA and the 96th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. On display in the exhibitions were photos documenting exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and their works, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean people. Speeches were made at the opening ceremonies. The chairman of the Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK said that Kim Jong Il developed in depth President Kim Il Sung's idea of attaching importance to arms and military affairs as required by the changed situation and provided the invincible treasured sword in the era of independence. He also firmly defended socialism and performed great exploits for guaranteeing the rosy future of the DPRK by pursuing Songun politics, the chairman noted. Kim Jong Un, taking the important post of the supreme commander of the KPA, is wisely leading the army and people of the DPRK to final victory, he added. The mayor of Dragoman City of Bulgaria underlined the need to actively conduct diverse cultural exchanges promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. Referring to Kim Il Sung's visit to Dragoman City dozens of years ago, the mayor hoped that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples will grow stronger. |
