Kim Jong Il Remembered Abroad

Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings took place in Britain, Nepal and Egypt on Dec. 14 and 15 on the occasion of the second anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. On display in the venues of meetings were photos documenting the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and the respected Kim Jong Un. Works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and books introducing Songun Korea were also on show. Present there were personages of various circles and masses in those countries. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il. Harpal Brar, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), said Kim Jong Il was a great man who greatly contributed to ensuring peace and security of the world by turning the DPRK into a nuclear weapons state and thwarting the imperialists' nuclear threat. C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), and other speakers praised Kim Jong Il as the most prominent leader who successfully led the Korean revolution and the human cause of independence for a long time. Kim Jong Il resolutely foiled the moves of the imperialist allied forces to stifle the DPRK by holding high the banner of Songun and brought about a turning phase for the country's reunification. Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, vice-chairman of the Socialist Freedom Party of Egypt, lauded Kim Jong Il, a peerlessly great man, for his sacred life dedicated to the happiness of people. A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the remembrance meeting in Nepal. |
