Now, more than 2,000 wind power generators are whirling in the county.

This year alone, a work has been carried out to install one generator for each two dwelling houses in seven villages in Chongdae-ri of the county.

Some villages in the county witness almost 70 percent of their dwelling houses supplied with electricity from the generators.

The generators are manufactured on the basis of advanced technology at the farm machine station in the county and machinery repair shops in each co-op farms.

The installation of wind power generators is gaining momentum in Ryangdam-ri, Samsan-ri, Tokchon-ri and other areas of the county.

The county has steadily increased its dependence on wind power from Juche 84 (1995).
