Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries from Dec. 13 to 16 on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. They included round-table talks and photo exhibition in Iran, a lecture and photo exhibition in Uganda and photo exhibition and film show in Nigeria. On display in the venues of the events were photos documenting the revolutionary career and exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. Also on display there were photos introducing the achievements made by the army and people of the DPRK in building a thriving socialist nation. Films shown included Korean film "Arms of Korea." The chairman of the Al Hadi Islam Propaganda Organization of Iran praised Kim Jong Il as the great leader who performed undying exploits for independence, sovereignty and prosperity of the DPRK and the sacred cause for global independence till the last moments of his life. Thanks to his Songun revolutionary leadership the DPRK emerged a power with tremendous military capabilities and took high position in the world political arena, the chairman noted. The chairman of the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea said: Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism serves as unique guidelines for resolutely smashing the moves of the imperialists and reactionaries and achieving the unity of the African continent. The Juche idea, the Songun idea serves as an ideological weapon for saving Africa from the threat of imperialism and neo-colonialism. The DPRK has developed economy, culture and military affairs on the principle of independence in politics, self-support in economy and self-reliance in national defence. This experience is a living example for Africa. We will study harder the Juche idea, the Songun idea and make positive efforts to apply it to the actual conditions of Africa. |
