Encouraged by his field guidance, the local people achieved noteworthy successes in their efforts to turn the country into a thriving socialist nation.

In his lifetime, Kim Jong Il always regarded people's happiness as his own and made ceaseless trips to different parts of the country.

It was also in the "office carriage" that he passed away in December 2011.
