Speakers at the press conference termed the regime's motion calling for the judgment on disbanding the UPP an outrage against democracy aimed to eliminate all the opposition political forces.

The authorities are keen on the reckless moves against the UPP, accusing it of including expressions like "progressive democracy" and "society where working people become its masters" in its program and calling for withdrawal of U.S. forces from south Korea, conclusion of peace treaty and abrogation of "Security Law", they charged. The authorities groundlessly claimed that those actions are all pursuant to the north's instructions,

They urged the regime to immediately stop its moves to disband the party, calling on the people to turn out in actions against the moves.

They stressed that the organization would check the disbandment of the party together with people and force Park who was elected through frauds to step down.

Declared at the conference was the start of an all-people petition campaign against the disbandment of the progressive political party.
