They say that Kim Jong Un's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA on Dec. 30, 2011 marked a historic event of great significance for developing the Korean revolutionary armed forces and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Thanks to this event the tradition of victory of the country and the revolution has been given a steady continuity and it was possible to usher in the era of the grandiose struggle and changes for making a new history of Songun Korea with the might of the armed forces of Mt. Paektu, Rodong Sinmun notes, and goes on:

Under his leadership the KPA has developed into elite powerful revolutionary army in politico-ideological, strategic and tactical aspects and in terms of military technology, the whole country has grown as strong as an invulnerable fortress and signal victory to be specially recorded in the history of the nation has been achieved in the stand-off with the U.S.

Kim Jong Un personally planted trees together with service personnel, instilling Kim Jong Il's patriotism into them, and visited forefront posts very close to the enemies' posts, imbuing them with matchless strength and courage. Thanks to his energetic leadership the KPA has developed into the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army.

He saw to it that a cemetery of the navy men who died heroic deaths while performing their combat duties was built to hand down their feats down through generations, an event unprecedented in history. He personally became the owner of the cemetery to make sure that they enjoy immortality. This is the acme of the love for the revolutionary comrades-in-arms, revolutionary comradeship which will always go down in the history of Juche-oriented army building.

He assigned to service personnel of the KPA tasks for building grand monumental edifices and reposed in them such deep trust as helping them usher in greatest heyday of construction in the "speed on Masik Pass".

Minju Joson says that the two years in which the army and people of the DPRK have worked, having Kim Jong Un as the supreme commander of the revolutionary armed forces, are a period of victory and glory during which the exploits performed by the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the army-building have been firmly preserved and the might of the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army has grown remarkably.
