The bulletin in an article titled "Guardian of socialism" said Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA marked an event of historic significance in defending socialism and adding glory to it.

Noting Kim Jong Il resolutely foiled the offensives of the imperialist allied forces to stifle the DPRK at the end of the last century, the article said:

After setting the Songun politics as the main political mode under socialism he put forward the People's Army as the driving force of revolution and consolidated its military and technological might in every way.

It is a brilliant fruition of the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il that the DPRK is vigorously advancing along the road of prosperity, standing firm against the imperialists. His idea and cause have been successfully carried forward by Supreme Commander of the KPA Kim Jong Un.
