The idea of national reunification clarified by Marshal Kim Jong Un in the New Year Address commands full support by not only Koreans but the world progressives as it shows a just and realistic way for reunification from the national point of view and in the light of the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula, the statement said, and went on:

It is necessary to create an atmosphere for improving the relations between the north and the south in order to make fresh advance in the movement for national reunification.

The south Korean authorities should stop the reckless moves of escalating confrontation with fellow countrymen and the racket of eliminating the "forces following the north". They should lend an ear to the voices of the south Koreans for independence, democracy and reunification and opt for improving the relations with the north.

The Koreans' cause of national reunification upholding the great idea and intention of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, peerlessly great men, is sure to triumph.

The cause of national reunification is being led by Marshal Kim Jong Un who is identical to the great Generalissimos.

All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad are confident of the bright future of a reunified Korea.

We pledge to achieve unity and solidarity and work hard this year to achieve the great cause of national reunification.

We will join all other Koreans in their efforts to carry out the tasks set forth in the historic New Year Address.
