The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said in a joint statement that Kim Jong Un's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA is an expression of absolute support and trust of the Korean people in him and a reflection of their strong will to invariably advance along the road of independence, Songun and socialism under his Songun revolutionary leadership in any storm and stress.

The statement praised him for developing the Korean revolutionary armed forces into an invincible army through his energetic inspection of KPA units.

The British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association in a statement noted:

Kim Jong Un's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA is not only the behest of leader Kim Jong Il but also a reflection of the unanimous desire of the Korean people to uphold his Songun revolutionary leadership generation after generation.

In the past two years Kim Jong Un has further developed the KPA into the invincible revolutionary armed forces and resolutely frustrated all provocations of the U.S. imperialists, assuming the heavy responsibility as supreme commander of the KPA.
