The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association noted this in their joint statement on Jan. 1.

Kim Jong Un set "Let us raise a fierce wind of making a fresh leap forward on all fronts of building a thriving country filled with confidence in victory!" as a slogan to be upheld by the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people this year and indicated the tasks for carrying it out, the statement noted.

Saying this year significantly marks the 50th anniversary of the Theses on Socialist Rural Question published by President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Un in the New Year Address called for dynamically conducting ideological, technological and cultural revolutions in rural areas, bringing about a radical turn in agricultural production and thus fully proving the validity and vitality of the theses, the statement said, adding:

Kim Jong Un said the most important state affair is to bolster up the defence capabilities and the dignity of the country, the happiness of the people and peace rest on strong arms. He underscored the need to continue to strengthening the defence capabilities of the country.
