Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued a joint statement on January 5 denouncing the south Korean authorities for escalating confrontation with the DPRK. Seeing the recent moves of the south Korean puppet fascist clique one can know well who sincerely hopes for peace on the Korean Peninsula and who seeks a war, the statement said. Supreme leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address underscored the need to establish a favorable climate for improved relations between the north and the south, calling upon all the Korean people in the north, in the south and abroad to achieve solid unity under the truly patriotic banner, the principle of By Our Nation Itself, turn out in the nationwide struggle for the reunification of the country and thus open up a new phase for independent reunification, peace and prosperity this year, the statement noted. This reflects the unshakable will of the DPRK government and the desire of the whole Korean nation to achieve peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, it said, and went on: Progressive mankind extends full support and solidarity to the proposal for Korea's reunification set forth in his New Year Address. But the south Korean puppet authorities are making such reckless remarks as throwing a wet blanket over improved inter-Korean relations. This reveals the intention of the south Korean authorities to opt for confrontation and war this year, too, having no willingness to improve the inter-Korean relations. We resolutely condemn the south Korean puppet authorities for wrecking the peace on the Korean Peninsula. The peace on the peninsula will be achieved only when the south Korean puppet clique is overthrown. |
