Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- Service personnel and people of the DPRK are greeting the 55th anniversary of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards. Generalissimo Kim Il Sung founded the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, new type of revolutionary armed forces which successfully inherited the tradition of the anti-Japanese guerrillas on January 14, Juche 48 (1959). He put up the militant slogan "Rifle in one hand and hammer or sickle in the other!" and wisely led the members of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards to unanimously turn out in the economic construction and in the drive to bolster up the national defence capabilities. Generalissimo Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul to successfully materialize Kim Il Sung's idea of building the Juche-oriented militia forces. He made public works including "The Worker-Peasant Red Guards Is Powerful Militia Forces of Our Party," inspiring all commanding officers and members to become fighters devotedly defending the leader by fully preparing themselves politically and ideologically and in military technique and those strong in faith and will. A fresh heyday has been opened in the history of the building of the Juche-oriented militia forces as Marshal Kim Jong Un is holding the top post of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK. He made public "Let Us Add Eternal Brilliance to Comrade Kim Jong Il's Great Idea and Achievements of the Songun Revolution" and other works, clearly indicating an orientation and ways for the Worker-Peasant Red Guards to intensify the combat and political training and bolster up its combat capabilities. Parades of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards held in celebration of the 60th, 63rd and 65th anniversaries of the DPRK fully demonstrated the validity and vitality of the Workers' Party of Korea's military line of self-reliant defence and the might of the people's defence forces once again before the whole world. |
