Outside Forces, Obstacle to Korea's Reunification
|
|
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address called for rejecting outside forces in order to resolve the country's reunification issue in keeping with the aspiration and desire of fellow countrymen. Outside forces remain a main hurdle in achieving the unity of the Korean nation and reunification of the country. The Korean nation has suffered from the national division forced by outside forces for nearly 70 years. And it is vital for the Korean nation to reject outside forces. The U.S. illegally occupied south Korea, prompted by a criminal scheme to make it a springboard for invasion of the whole territory of Korea. The U.S. that unleashed a war against the DPRK in the 1950s has frequently staged air, ground and naval war exercises against the DPRK. After working out war scenarios for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, it has been stepping up the moves to redeploy its aggression forces and relocate its military bases, part of its preparations to provoke the second Korean War. The work for achieving reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south and the movement for independent reunification that had gained momentum after the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration have suffered turns and twists due to the U.S. obstructions. It is the history-proven truth that the removal of danger of war and the country's reunification would be unthinkable without rejecting outside forces. The driving force for national reunification is all the members of the Korean nation in the north, in the south and abroad and only when the Korean nation remain steadfast in the standpoint of By Our Nation Itself, will it be possible to the reunification issue. All the Koreans should definitely reject the domination and interference of outside forces and actively strive to achieve the independent reunification under the uplifted banner of June 15 joint declaration. |
