Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The agricultural workers in the DPRK are stepping up the preparations for this year's farming in hearty response to supreme leader Kim Jong Un's New Year Address. Those of South Hwanghae Province carried more than one million tons of manure to fields in the first week of the year. Anak, Jaeryong and Paechon counties have made innovations in production of compost, while Sinchon county carried to fields at least 150 000 tons of compost in a few days. South Hamgyong Province carried out a task for conveying compost at 112 percent in six days, which would take ten days in ordinary pace. Such compost carrying assignments were performed ahead of schedule in Thosan and Sungho counties of North Hwanghae Province and Mangyongdae, Sadong and Ryokpho districts and Kangdong County of Pyongyang. After all, millions of tons of compost were carried to farm fields throughout the country in the first week. Meanwhile, North Phyongan Province has pushed ahead with the work to raise the fertility of soil, spreading on fields fertile soil 1.2 times as much as last year's in the same period. South Phyongan Province finished over 90 percent of the material preparations for seedbeds. The farming preparations in the country go on smoothly thanks to the devoted efforts of the agricultural workers determined to attain the goal of grain production set by the Workers' Party of Korea for this year marking the 50th anniversary of the theses on the socialist rural question. |
