|
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- Among the Korean national old books is "Observations of Mt. Paektu", a longest sequel of the book "Puksaegiryak" authored by Hong Ryang Ho, a Confucianist of the 18th century. The sequel dealt with Lake Chon on the top of Mt. Paektu, its ranges, plains, ravines and even the Amnok and Tuman rivers originated from the lake. It also gave detailed data on configuration and fauna and flora around the mountain. The sequel clearly shows that the Korean nation had venerated Mt. Paektu as a holy mountain of Korea symbolic of its dignity and spirit from long ago. |
