President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in their lifetime taught that the popular masses are the almighty being in the world.

The strength that helps work miracles in the revolution and construction lies in making the popular masses display mental strength.

The popular masses can create something out of nothing and turn impossibility into possibility, only when their inexhaustible mental strength is fully displayed. It was clearly evidenced by the history of socialist construction in the DPRK.

In the period of the great Chollima upswing, workers of the Kangson Steel Complex rolled 120 000 tons of steel at the blooming mill of 6 000-ton rated capacity and those of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex produced 270 000 tons of pig iron with the equipment of 190 000-ton rated capacity.

For 15 years from the start of the construction of Mansudae Art Theatre and Rakwon Street, Pyongyang witnessed the construction of several streets like Changgwang and Kwangbok and scores of modern edifices, including the Grand People's Study House and May Day Stadium.

Even when the country was in hard time in the period of the Arduous March, the forced march, the army and the people were able to pave a way for bringing about the nation's prosperity by overcoming all sorts of trials and difficulties, as they were possessed of strong mental strength to carry on the revolution to the end.

With the mental strength and the spirit of devotedly carrying out the leader's instructions, soldier-builders successfully built many edifices last year, including the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, Unha Scientists Street, Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club and the world-level Masikryong Ski Resort, thus ushering in a heyday of construction.

All servicepersons and civilians are fully determined to glorify this as a year of great creation and innovations by giving fullest play to the matchless mental strength under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.
