The president said:

Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address reviewed the shining successes achieved by the Korean people in building a thriving socialist nation and defending socialism under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) last year.

He stressed the year 2014 will be a year of grandiose struggle, a year of sea changes, in which the Korean people usher in a golden age of Songun Korea by raising a fierce wind of making a fresh leap forward on all fronts of building a thriving socialist country.

We are firmly convinced that the WPK and the Korean people would bring about a great victory and changes in the drive to build a thriving socialist nation under the uplifted banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the great guiding idea in the era of independence.

We extend full support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people in their just struggle to reunify the country.

We express sympathy with the independent foreign policy of the DPRK working hard for global peace and security and prosperity common to humankind in the idea of independence, peace and friendship.
