He said:

Marshal of the DPRK Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address called for making fresh advance in the national reunification movement this year true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il.

The proposal for national reunification set forth by him in his New Year Address is the most just and reasonable one.

The north and the south of Korea should adhere to the principle of independence clarified in the three principles of national reunification and the north-south joint declarations, firmly maintain the standpoint of By Korean Nation Itself and respect and sincerely implement the joint declarations.

It is the precondition for prosperity of the Korean nation to place the dignity and interests of the nation above all and approach and solve all problems on the principle of national independence.

As indicated by Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address the north and the south should work hard to defend national security and peace and establish a climate for improved north-south ties while rejecting foreign forces and firmly maintaining the standpoint of By Korean Nation Itself.

All Koreans in the north, the south and abroad will conduct a nationwide reunification movement with burning patriotism and full of fresh conviction and thus usher in a new phase of independent reunification, peace and prosperity this year.

The DPRK's cause of national reunification will be achieved without fail.
