Achievements Reported from Light Industrial Factories

Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of light industrial factories across the country are registering successes in the production of mass consumption goods. The Ponghwa Soap Factory and Sinuiju Unha Towel Factory honored their production plans for January more than two weeks ahead of schedule and are expanding their successes. The daily production quotas are being carried out at 150 percent and 200 percent at the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill, the Songyo Knitwear Factory and the Taedonggang Unha Garment Factory from the outset of the year. Meanwhile, the Kanggye Knitwear Factory and Pakchon Silk Mill are honoring their daily production plans at over 110 percent. The Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory and Pyongyang Essential Foodstuff Factory are now producing 1.2 times as much confectionary and essential foodstuff, etc. as compared with those in the corresponding period of last year by consolidating the material and technological foundation of production. The work for putting production processes on a modern and CNC basis has made rapid progress at various light industrial factories. A dynamic drive is now under way to increase the proportion of locally available raw and other materials and develop popular goods with world competitiveness. The Kanggye Winery is channeling efforts into the work for putting production processes on a CNC, unmanned and germ-free basis while focusing efforts on developing products favored by people. Preparations are being stepped up to develop new products conducive to improving the people's standard of living at the Pyongyang and Sinuiju cosmetic factories, the Kyongsong Ceramic Factory, the Kanggye Pencil Factory and many other factories and enterprises across the country. Officials and workers of the Pyongyang School Things Factory and the Pyongyang Children's Knitted Goods Factory are striving hard to boost the production of quality and attractive school things and knitted goods with indigenous technology and locally available raw and other materials. |
