U.S.-S. Korea Military Drill for Preemptive Nuclear Strike Denounced

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- American and south Korean military and diplomatic officials were reported to have taken part in the drill staged at the Command of the U.S. Forces in the Pacific in mid January. They made much fuss, presenting papers on the themes of nuclear and non-nuclear capabilities, etc. after creating simulated conditions of "north Korean nuclear crisis" and discussing a "counter-proposal on the basis of a scenario of nuclear threat from north Korea". At the end of the drill they talked a lot about "success," claiming that it offered a chance for practical application of the tailored deterrence strategy and enhancement of the level of intelligence gathering for the operation on the Korean Peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a commentary in this regard:

The U.S. and south Korean war maniacs applied the tailored deterrence strategy to this drill for the first time. It is a grave military provocation and dangerous mock operation aiming at mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.

It is not the first time that the U.S. revealed its attempt for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.

What is ridiculous is that Washington often repeated the pretext that its scenario is to cope with the "nuclear threat" from the DPRK. But this is, however, nothing but a poor excuse to justify its attempt at preemptive nuclear attack.

The U.S. escalating nuclear threat and blackmail and preparations for a war of aggression against the DPRK is absolutely intolerable as it is a serious infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.

No matter how noisily the arch criminals driving the situation of the Korean Peninsula to the worst phase trumpet "nuclear threat" from the DPRK, there is no one who would lend an ear to their rhetoric. It only sparks off greater vigilance among the neighboring countries.

It is a daydream of the U.S. to try to hurt the DPRK through such preemptive nuclear attack, obsessed with nuclear war hysteria.

Those provokers failing to properly understand who their rival is would be well advised to bear in mind that preemptive attack is not their monopoly.
