Shallow-sea Fish Farming Proves Successful in DPRK
|
|
Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- Marine products cultivated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are now in high demand in China. Hairy crab, scallop, turbo and oyster in particular find a good sale in markets of Jilin Province of China as they are products from pollution-free sea. The DPRK introduced such ways as large-sized cage net and movable cage net to breeding fish in the sea. Some species of freshwater fishes have already been habituated to sea water. The country's seas are favorable for fish farming and aquiculture as there are cold and warm currents in the east sea and rivers flow into the west sea, making favorable conditions for growth of fishes. The government is paying deep attention to the shallow-sea fish farming and culture as part of the efforts to develop the fisheries. |
