Ibrahim Mantu, chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association who is member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to widely introduce and disseminate the revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Jong Il and organize various political and cultural events on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star (birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il).
