The statement said that they received news that the NDC of the DPRK sent a crucial proposal to the south Korean authorities upon the authorization of the government, political parties and organizations of the Republic under the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.

It said:

The proposal reflects the noble intention of Marshal Kim Jong Un who called for ushering in a fresh phase of independent reunification, peace and prosperity this year, and deals with the issue of completely halting all acts of provoking and slandering the other side and all hostile military acts against the other side and preventing nuclear disaster.

We fully support the proposal of the NDC of the DPRK, considering it as the most just and realistic one reflecting the firm will to open a wide avenue of improving the north-south ties by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.

We extend firm solidarity to the Workers' Party of Korea and the people all out in the struggle for realizing the national reunification, united close around Kim Jong Un.
