They are Ri Ryong Am, researcher at the Coal Mining Engineering Institute of the Coal Mining Science Branch of the State Academy of Sciences who is recipient of Kim Il Sung Prize, labor hero, academician, Prof. and Dr., and Jong Jin Chang, researcher at the Heat Engineering Institute who is recipient of Kim Jong Il Prize, candidate academician, Prof. and Dr.

Ri worked his way through college as a worker loading and unloading truck goods in a foreign country. Given an ample opportunity of learning under the care of the socialist homeland, he grew up to be a scientist loved by the people.

After his graduation from a university thanks to the trust and loving care of President Kim Il Sung, Ri made successes in scientific researches such as developing a non-pillar mining method, authored lots of books and papers and helped his co-researchers hold academic degrees for years.

In recognition of his scientific achievements through which he upheld the party, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un bestowed upon him such honor as receiving Kim Il Sung Prize and the title of labor hero and attending the national meeting of intellectuals and various other meetings.

Graduated from Kim Chaek University of Technology, Jong Jin Chang dedicated himself to scientific researches to repay the loving care of the peerlessly great men.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il repeatedly bestowed upon him profound benevolence to be conveyed down through generations in recognition of the contributions he has made to the prosperity of the country by registering a lot of successes in scientific researches for establishing Juche character in the field of heat engineering.

He is still devoting all his wisdom and energy to the development of the nation's science and technology to live up to such trust shown by Kim Jong Un in him as honoring him as recipient of Kim Jong Il Prize.
