A resolution was read out at the meeting.

The resolution praised the north for decisively foiling the anti-reunification forces' moves for a war of aggression against it by dint of single-minded unity and exalting its dignity and might last year.

Koreans in the south and abroad waged a dynamic struggle for thoroughly implementing the June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration in the spirit of By the Korean Nation Itself, the resolution noted, and went on:

The Federation of Koreans in the U.S. will conduct invariable activities for national prosperity and reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south this year, too, prompted by patriotism.

The federation evinced the pledge to intensify the solidarity activities with progressive political parties, civic organizations, and patriotic masses in the south, overseas Koreans and progressive forces in various countries of the world and implement the June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration.

The Koreans in the U.S. will work hard to carry out the three major tasks--a peace campaign for national prosperity, movement for concluding a peace treaty and the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration--and thus open up a new phase of independent reunification, peace and prosperity this year without fail, stressed the resolution.
