It was hosted by the Unified Progressive Party (UPP), the "Measure Committee to Denounce the Intelligence Service's Fabrication of Attempted Rebellion and Suppression under the Pretext of Security" and the "Measure Committee of Families of Victims of Attempted Rebellion Case Fabricated by Intelligence Service".

At the press conference speakers said that more than 100 000 persons in south Korea and abroad signed a petition for the acquittal of all detainees related to the attempted rebellion case of the UPP.

The regime is talking about the dissolution of the UPP and an "underground revolutionary organization" though it has been made clear that the attempted rebellion case was fabricated, they said, and went on:

What the security forces are seeking in faking up the case is to stoke the ideological conflict and antagonism among the people.

The people demand this fabrication farce and suppression under the pretext of security to be stopped on this land.

The chief fabricators of the case should be severely punished and all the detainees, victims of the racket for "eradicating forces following the north", should be acquitted.
