Chongryon Officials Protest against Asahi Shimbun's False Report

Tokyo, January 30 (KNS-KCNA) -- Representatives of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) Monday visited the Tokyo Office of the Asahi Shimbun and lodged a strong protest with it for having carried an article peppered with malignant invectives against the DPRK.

On Jan. 26 the Asahi Shimbun carried an article malignantly hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK despite the repeated protests made by Chongryon.

Noting that the article is a sheer fabrication as it painted in an utterly wrong way the DPRK where all its service personnel and people are stepping up the building of a thriving nation, single-mindedly united around supreme leader Kim Jong Un, they demanded the Asahi Shimbun make an apology for the article and make a correction immediately.

Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are becoming increasingly vocal protesting and denouncing the ultra-right conservative media in Japan for persisting in their smear campaign against the DPRK, daring hurt the dignity of its supreme leadership.
