The measure committee is composed of civic and social organizations including the Solidarity for Progress and the Confederation of Trade Unions of south Korea.

At the conference the speakers termed the attempted rebellion case of the Unified Progressive Party a case of suppression under the pretext of public security cooked up by the regime to tide over its ruling crisis.

The case is similar to those which had been hatched by the erstwhile dictatorial regimes whenever they faced crises but ended with declaration of not-guilty, they noted.

They said they would stage a campaign for probing truth behind the IS's illegal interference in the election and the attempted rebellion case.
