The meeting opened on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the theses on the socialist rural question published by President Kim Il Sung marks an important occasion in upholding, preserving and glorifying the undying feats performed by the President and leader Kim Jong Il for the rural construction and the development of the nation's agriculture under the leadership of the party.

The conference is to review the achievements and experience gained in the agricultural production in the past and discuss tasks and ways for the agricultural workers to hit the goal of grain production set by the Party.

Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Jang Jong Nam, Kim Ki Nam and other senior party, state and army officials, chief secretaries of provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions. Also attending it were exemplary sub-workteam leaders across the country, leading officials in the field of agriculture in provinces, cities and counties and officials of relevant units.

Prior to the conference, the participants listened to the recorded speech "Let Us Thoroughly Implement the Theses on the Socialist Rural Question" made by President Kim Il Sung at the second session of the 9th Central People's Committee of the DPRK on June 22 and 23, Juche 79 (1990).

Conveyed at the conference was a letter "Let Us Bring About Innovations in Agricultural Production under the Unfurled Banner of the Socialist Rural Theses" sent by Marshal Kim Jong Un to the participants in the conference.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, made a report.

He referred to the undying exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who opened up the new history of socialist rural construction and devoted all their lives to the development of agriculture of the country.

Kim Il Sung deemed it as an important issue to strengthen the subworkteams, the grassroots level units and cells of communal labor and life, and established an original subworkteam management system, he said and went on:

The subworkteam management system is a form of production organization that encourages all farmers to take part in production and management as befitting masters with the feeling of attachment to the collective economy and its vitality has been fully displayed in the course of increasing the agricultural production and improving the farm management.

Kim Jong Il put forth policies of bringing about a radical change in farming in the Songun era and energetically guided their implementation.

The subworkteam management system was consolidated to be an advantageous management and distribution system of our style that gives full play to the patriotic zeal and devoted efforts of the agricultural workers under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. It has put strong spurs to the development of the socialist rural economy system.

A turn being effected in the overall agricultural field including production of grain, livestock farming and fruit farming is a precious fruition of the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Un who has made indefatigable efforts for the development of the nation's agriculture, the reporter said, adding:

Socialist agriculture in the country has made shining achievements, covering the proud path of victory under the outstanding and seasoned leadership of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu.

The successes made in the agricultural production are associated with the unrewarded efforts made by subworkteam leaders across the country.

The reporter called on the subworkteam leaders and other officials of primary organizations in farms and economic guidance organs to raise a fierce wind of making fresh leap forward in the socialist rural construction and agricultural production.
