The preparatory committee consisted of officials and members of political parties, friendship and social bodies, Juche idea study organizations and media of Nepal.

C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee set the celebration period from Feb. 1 to 17 and decided to hold colorful political and cultural events including meeting, book exhibition and film show during the period.
