Open Letter of NDC of DPRK Supported by Thai, Slovenian Organizations
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Organizations of Thailand and Slovenia issued statements on January 24 and 30 in support of the open letter sent by the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK to the south Korean side.

The Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association recalled that the NDC of the DPRK sent an open letter to the authorities, various political parties, social organizations and people of various circles of south Korea by a special order of the first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

It expressed hope that the north-south relations would improve to help achieve reunification, peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

The Slovenia-DPRK Friendship Association welcomed the action taken by the DPRK to totally stop provoking and slandering the other side. It went on:

The south Korean authorities should cancel the plan to stage joint military exercises with the U.S. from late February for the improvement of the north-south relations.

They should not thoughtlessly doubt the patience and sincere efforts of the DPRK and hastily deny them.

Only when all hostile military acts are completely stopped and climate for reconciliation and unity is created, will all issues between the north and the south be settled in conformity with the will of the nation.

We appeal to the south Korean authorities to positively respond to the proposal of the DPRK to pave a wide avenue for mending the north-south ties by the concerted efforts of the Koreans.
