The meeting discussed the 2014 action program of Pomminryon to open a new phase for independent reunification, peace and prosperity by uniting close in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

A report was made at the meeting.

The report said that Pomminryon fully supports the crucial proposal and open letter of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK which reflect the unshakable will for national independence and great unity of the nation and the idea of patriotism and clearly indicate the practical ways of paving a wide avenue for improving the relations between the north and the south.

It indicated tasks and ways for Pomminryon to hold higher the slogan "Let's usher in a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity by concerted efforts of our nation!"

It continued:

Pomminryon will advance in line with the three principles of national reunification and the historic north-south joint declaration.

All issues arising in the inter-Korean relations and the cause of the country's reunification should be solved on the basis of them and Koreans should not allow any slight attempt of outside forces to interfere in the issue of the country's reunification and internal affairs of the nation and strongly oppose and reject it.

Pomminryon will take the lead in striving hard to pave a wide avenue for improving the inter-Korean relations in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

Pomminryon will vehemently reject all acts of vitiating the climate for improving the inter-Korean relations and all sorts of mud-slinging and hostile acts obstructive to it on the principle of placing the wishes and interests common to the nation above all and intensify the movement for peace against war to hold in check joint military exercises for aggression under various codenames, in particular, and moves for arms build-up.

Pomminryon will put the great unity of the nation on a higher level through positive solidarity activities with the people of various circles at home and overseas.

Pomminryon will hold diverse pro-reunification meetings with splendor on various occasions including the 42nd anniversary of the July 4 joint statement, the 14th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, the 7th anniversary of the October 4 declaration and the 69th anniversary of Korea's liberation by concerted efforts of people of various circles at home and abroad including All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration for the purpose of creating an environment and climate favorable for improving the inter-Korean relations and carrying forward the era of June 15 reunification this year without fail.

The report underscored the need to unite close under the patriotic banner, the banner of By Our Nation Itself to dynamically advance in the van of the struggle for accomplishing the sacred cause of opening a new epochal phase of achieving independent reunification, peace and prosperity.

A joint resolution of the North, South and Overseas Headquarters of Pomminryon was adopted at the meeting.

The resolution said that Pomminryon would take the lead in the efforts to firmly maintain the principle of national independence and the stand of By Our Nation Itself and fully preserve and implement the north-south joint declaration.

It clarified the stand to conduct positive activities to create a climate for improving the inter-Korean relations and give further momentum to the great unity of the nation through diverse solidarity activities with people of various circles at home and abroad.

It called for further consolidating the organization of Pomminryon and boosting the solidarity among the north, south and overseas sides.
