Athletes from different sports teams had to run 45 kilometers, a little more than the standard distance of 42.195 km, in the matches.

Marathoners of the April 25 Sports Team became winners in men and women's races in Pyongyang and those of the Suyangsan Sports Team and the Sports Team of Kim Jong Thae Haeju University of Education No. 1 in the matches in Haeju.

Many of the participants reached the standard record to be qualified for the IAAF-27th Mangyongdae Prize Marathon, which is to be held here to mark the Day of the Sun (April 15), President Kim Il Sung's birthday.
