Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Natural wonders have been recently observed around the secret camp of Mt. Paektu in Korea, where leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace is situated. In this regard, Pak Hyong Jun, chief of the Paektusan Secret Camp Meteorological Observatory, told KCNA: There was a solar halo in the sky above Jong Il Peak from 12:30 to 15:00 on Thursday. Buds began to burst on the willow branches along the Sobaek Stream on Tuesday afternoon, earlier than usual. Such phenomenon was also witnessed on trees around the lodging house for study tourists run by the Management Office for Revolutionary Battle Sites in the Secret Camp of Mt. Paektu. The inhabitants are glad to hear the news, saying that willow catkin in the Paektusan Secret Camp heralds the spring. |
